International work

My personal journey of working in different healthcare systems has made me responsive to special factors across cultures which is why I obtained Masters in Sociology of Health and Illness and also in Social Anthropology.  As a cultural psychiatrist I am therefore fully aware of relative cultural systems, beliefs and values and recognise that same size does not fit all. Hence I am very clear that we should learn from each other. I chaired the College’s International advisory Committee for two years and during this period the College signed 17 Memoranda of Understanding with other psychiatric associations, universities and government departments. These photographs are a small illustration of my international work.

I have conducted leadership courses in Banaglore, Singapore and Hong Kong with plans for doing the same in Amsterdam and London.
